Memorial Day Picnic - May 29, 2008

To honor veterans this Memorial Day, Lutheran Social Services of Van Nuys held their annual Memorial Day Picnic.

With over 400 people in attendance it was a huge success! The marching band from Van Nuys High School played a fabulous selection of music varying from patriotic to pop culture hits. A Military Color Guard even rendered honors while the national anthem was played by the band.

People lined up for almost an hour to enjoy the BBQ that was prepared for this special occasion. Speeches were given from veterans, veteran organizations and people with big hearts for veteran affairs. This was a great event, and a ministry that LSS is passionate about. We are here to help our veterans in whatever way we can.

We are already looking forward to next year’s picnic!
