Seniors Warmline

The frail elderly are challenged by serious isolation in Big Bear Valley.  Many have become homebound.  The situation is exacerbated by harsh weather conditions.  The lack of services for the aging becomes obvious when they are deprived of assistance and basic resources because they are existing at poverty level and/or are trying to remain in their homes and are alone without help of family or friends.  The Warmline helps the elderly maintain the level of dignity they deserve though weekly contact by a volunteer.  LSS reaches out to these individual with resources and human interaction.  This program targets socially isolated seniors.
