Happy Friday Team!
I am so happy that we have been blessed with another week and here we are at another weekend. It’s been a wonderful week with lots of things accomplished. I am so happy with our various teams. You all do such great work.
I know you have heard the phrase, “there is no ‘I’ in team.” There’s another way that phrase has been used an it goes, “there is no ‘I’ in team, but there is ‘me.” Honestly, I believe there are those who feel this way. I do not want that kind of thinking to permeate our organization. I am so happy that I do not see that kind of behavior very often. You care for each other and you work to ensure not only you succeed, but you also work hard to ensure your teammates succeed also.
Teamwork is important at LSSSC, especially as we are a faith-based organization. We believe that every single person is important, not just leaders, but followers, clients, and partners. Think about what the Bible says about the value of each one of us: 1 Corinthians 12:14-26 says,
“For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose…The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.”
Aren’t these scriptures beautiful? They tell you that you matter. What you have to offer to LSSSC is needed and appreciated. Think about what the Word of God is really saying, He uses the efforts of each team member in equally important ways, all unique and special. A collective vision is shared, born of the team members’ collective wisdom, commitment and accountability. Thank you for being a wise, committed, and accountable group of professionals.
