COLOR OF HOPE GALA & AWARDS

OCTOBER 7, 2023
HISTORIC MISSION INN

INVITED BY

You are invited by Cathy & Steve Kienle, Honorary Chairpersons, to Lutheran Social Services of Southern California’s 2nd Color of Hope Gala & Awards.

This one-of-a-kind event will happen at the Mission Inn in Riverside, CA  on Saturday, October 7, 2023.

Tickets are limited, so plan now to join other supporters, change agents celebrities & community leaders from all over So. California on a special  “Mission Possible” assignment to raise funds and awareness to build a Community Wellness Campus for the Inland Empire.

The evening begins with a champagne reception and silent auction from 5-6 p.m. Following, you’ll enjoy a gourmet meal, inspiring program, unique desserts, and a fabulous live auction. Plus, you’ll hear directly from our renowned CEO, Dr. LaSharnda Beckwith along with those serving and served by our life-saving initiatives.

Your support for this gala shows that the causes of LSSSC are your causes: Initiatives like ending homelessness, supporting victims of violence, feeding the hungry, supporting mental health recovery, connecting with seniors, mentoring youth and so much more.

Too far to travel? Live outside of CA? No worries. There’s a virtual viewing ticket option just for you that includes special delivery of the same swag bag items and champagne (or apple cider) toast that in-person attendees receive.

The goal is to raise more than $320,000 to help more vulnerable people in our neighborhoods & communities.

Come be part of the Color of Hope!

Faces of Mankind

Faces of Mankind is a non-profit where we set out to befriend and paint portraits of the vulnerable community throughout the world. We then sell the artwork and use proceeds to help in rehabilitating our newfound friends. The mission of Faces of Mankind is to locally help those in need in cities around the world while also inspiring and activating creatives and supporters of the movement. We believe that the creativity we’ve been given is meant for the outward pouring of love.

Following Jesus has led us to do His work mentioned in Matthew 25:34-40. We have found great satisfaction and learned a lot about ourselves while helping those in need. This project has also reignited our passion and purpose for the arts and continues to teach us about unconditional and sacrificial love.

FEATURING

Jesse Hernandez

His electric energy and enthusiasm will have you discovering new words to describe the most fun part of our event as “Auction-tainment” as we gather to support a great cause Lutheran Social Services.

Jesse is a proud husband and father to his wife Elizabeth & daughter Claire. Jesse’s family loves animals and has three dogs – a Yorkie named Bruno, a Mini Schnauzer named Ivy, and a Mailtipoo named Cookie. Jesse and Elizabeth have previously volunteered at an animal shelter to help raise awareness for abused and abandoned animals.

LaSharnda Beckwith, Ph.D., D.B.A., President and CEO of Lutheran Social Services of Southern California

As President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. LaSharnda Beckwith oversees the strategic direction and execution of the agency’s core mission: ignited by faith, we live out God’s love by embracing, equipping and empowering vulnerable people in Southern California. Supported by the work Dr. Beckwith’s done through the Professional Christian Women in Service organization she established in 2005, and other leadership programs she created over her professional career, it is clear her heart is truly aligned with the values of LSSSC.

Cathy & Steve Kienle

Cathy & Steve Kienle of Walter’s Automotive Group have been long-term supporters of LSSSC through their holiday toy drives throughout the Inland Empire.  Also champions of children, together they have raised millions over the years for Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

We are honored that after many years of their partnership with LSSSC, that they have agreed to be the honorary chairpersons of this event in their hometown of Riverside.
