Happy Friday, Team!
I pray your week has been productive, and as you enter this weekend, you can enjoy it. For all the parents out there with school-aged kids, enjoy now. Soon, they will be back at school, and the homework, extra-curricular activities, and everything else begins. Have fun.
I recall the days my son was in school. As much as I loved that time, it was jam-packed and sometimes very stressful. However, I think we were all ready by the time we returned to school. As much fun as we’d share during vacation, we were looking forward to returning to the school year’s regular routine.
As short as our work week is, I think the prospect of Friday is a different yet similar way of taking a vacation. From Work!
I bet, like me, you love your job. With all its challenges, you love it. I am so grateful to be able to lead this organization, contribute and make a difference each day. What I do is no different than you. You care about the people you serve, and I know you show up to work each day to contribute and make a difference. Thank you. Just know that your work is not in vain.
As I close out this week and thank you for working with the most vulnerable with a heart of care, I think about you. I pray for you, and I want you to remember the scripture found in Colossians 3:23-24, which says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
Keep doing what you are doing. We need you and so do others. God bless you, and Happy Friday!
