Dr. Beckwith’s Friday Inspiration For August 18th

Happy Friday, LSSSC Team!

As I speak to you on this blessed Friday, I am reminded of a particular scripture that is powerful and true if we embrace it. The Biblical truth is that each one of us is fearfully and wonderfully made. Just as the Creator has molded us in His image, He has also bestowed upon us a set of unique gifts and talents that are truly extraordinary. As we pursue excellence at LSSSC, it is paramount that we recognize and celebrate the incredible diversity of skills that reside within our team.

Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 12:4-6: “Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.” This verse encapsulates the essence of our organization, where each team member possesses distinct abilities that, when combined, form a harmonious symphony of creativity, innovation, and achievement.

Our journey at LSSSC is fueled by the understanding that these unique gifts are not random or arbitrary. They are divine endowments entrusted to us to shape our organization’s success trajectory. Just as in the parable of the talents, we must multiply and invest the gifts we have been given, nurturing them to their fullest potential.

Every single one of you plays a pivotal role in our collective triumphs. Whether your gift is the ability to solve complex problems, inspire others through words, build strong relationships, or meticulously organize every detail, your contribution is invaluable. In 1 Peter 4:10, we are reminded: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” Indeed, our talents are not just for personal gain but also a means to elevate our entire team and the community we serve.

In our pursuit of success, it’s easy to fall into the comparison trap. However, we must remember the words of Galatians 6:4: “But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor.” The danger lies not only in underestimating our own capabilities but also in failing to appreciate the diverse abilities of our colleagues.

So, let us commit ourselves to fostering an environment of mutual appreciation and support. Let us be vigilant in recognizing the beauty in our differences and the strength that arises from our unity. Together, we form a mosaic of talents that brings color and vibrancy to LSSSC, propelling us toward our shared goals.

As we move forward, let us hold close to our hearts the truth that each of us is a unique masterpiece crafted by God. Your talents, contributions, and presence within LSSSC are vital to our mission and success.

I hope that this Friday’s message will inspire us to embrace our gifts, honor the contributions of our fellow team members, and continue to propel LSSSC to greater heights.

God bless you and keep you. May His favor shine upon you.

Ambassadors are short-term volunteers who open doors for our organization in the community, introducing new people at our bi-monthly Fostering Community Care event. These are one hour awareness events only (no solicitations are made) to expose people to the great work of LSS Community Care. To become an Ambassador here are your responsibilities:
  1. 1 – Attend at least one Fostering Community Care event during the calendar year
  2. 2 – Host or invite and bring 10-15 guests to one Fostering Community Care event within 3 months of your attending one yourself.
  3. 3 – Inform your invited guests of what the Fostering Community Care meeting will be about, and let them know that they will receive a follow up call from the organization
  4. 4 – Ambassadors will complete their commitment after bringing 10-15 persons within the 3 month time period. An Ambassador has the option to complete after one term, continue for another 3 month term or move into another role on the team.
