An organization in Riverside that has been serving the homeless and hungry for more than 20 years is working to get more of them into permanent housing.
Lutheran Social Services of Southern California serves hundreds of thousands of individuals and families throughout Southern California annually, offering over 50 different programs/services at different locations. Its Riverside site focuses on alleviating homelessness.
“The need here in Riverside is for housing,” said Area Director Deniece Marshall, who called the situation “a homeless crisis.”
The group is part of the Continuum of Care for Riverside County, an alliance of private and public agencies that addresses the homeless issue.
