Friday Blessings are sent your way, Team!
I pray your week has gone well and you are filled with hope, joy, and peace daily. I also pray that you are happy and optimistic about what you do every day and in the future.
Today, I want to discuss integrity and why it is essential. Sometimes we hear this word thrown around as if it is just a buzzword; something that looks good on the website or office wall representing a core value. But it is not just a buzzword; it is something we should all aspire to have whether we are Christ followers or not. I have always believed that our values begin at home and won’t stop because we are at work or any other place. But workforce integrity is vital to decision-making, serving clients, and managing others. In addition, integrity is crucial to reducing errors, avoiding illegal activity, and keeping our core values at the forefront of our minds.
Being a Business major and working at Christian universities, I have had many opportunities to teach Business from a Biblical perspective. I wrote a course still being used at two universities, A Christian Vision of Business. I also did scholarly work titled The Value of Ethics in Organizations, which focuses on integrity. So, I take this topic very seriously. I remember opening my class with God forbids us from dealing dishonestly. In Leviticus 19:35-36, God commands us to have honest scales, which means we should not cheat. In Zechariah 8:16-17, God commands us to speak truth to our neighbor.
Integrity is everything! A person who follows their true, ethical convictions and does the right thing in all circumstances, especially when it isn’t convenient or when no one is watching, will be blessed with good things. I am grateful that We have people in this organization who demonstrate high integrity. Thank you for being Daniel (in the Bible), who had an excellent spirit and would not compromise even when his enemies set a trap for him.
Proverbs 20:7 says, “A righteous man who walks in his integrity; how blessed are his sons after him.” Integrity leaves a legacy for one’s children to follow. And since” honesty “is embedded in “integrity,” let us live a life of integrity!
God bless you and keep you. Happy Friday.
