Greetings to you this Friday morning!
Did you have a good week? I hope so. I look forward to sharing my heart with you this Friday. Every week as I prepare this inspirational, I pray and ask God what to share. I pray about the topic and the scripture. Today’s preparation was no different. Guess where I landed? 2 Samuel, chapter 7, starting at verse 18 through the end of the chapter.
The very first book that I wrote, has 2 Samuel chapter 7, at the beginning of the book. I have always loved this chapter so much. In chapter 7, God made promises to David. But the part that touches me the most is David’s response. Let me read these scriptures to you:
Who am I, Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And as if this were not enough in your sight, Sovereign LORD, you have also spoken about the future of the house of your servant—and this decree, Sovereign LORD, is for a mere human! What more can David say to you? For you know your servant, Sovereign Lord. For the sake of your word and according to your will, you have done this great thing and made it known to your servant. “How great you are, Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you, and there is no God but you, as we have heard with our own ears…
Sovereign LORD, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant. Now be pleased to bless the house of your servant, that it may continue forever in your sight; for you, Sovereign LORD, have spoken, and with your blessing the house of your servant will be blessed forever.”
For as long as I can recall, when I read these scriptures, I have placed my name where David name goes. I will never forget the grace and favor God has extended to me. Wherever you are and whatever you do, always know that He has promises for you also. Jeremiah 29:11 tells you “For I know the plans I have for you says God. Plans to prosper you and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.”
Have a wonderful weekend! God bless you.
