Happy Friday, Team!
I pray your week has been eventful and fun and that you enter your weekend happy and optimistic about the future.
For as long as I can remember, Fridays have been a source of joy. Think about it. From school age, when Friday meant the end of the school week, to when we entered the workforce, we anticipated Fridays. When I was young and crazy, Fridays meant the beginning of partying for the weekend. But, now that I am much more mature, I look forward to relaxing and doing nothing more than enjoying the seclusion of home. So, whatever this weekend brings, enjoy!
I don’t know if you noticed, but this week’s daily morning devotions were powerful. I kicked off the week talking about we, as Believers, should be encouragers and that it is our job to help others see the value they bring to LSSSC. I want to return to those thoughts as we close out this week.
As you may recall, I said that each of us is called and that calling looks different on every one of us. The gifts God has given you are for you, and the ones He has bestowed on me are for me. Maybe you don’t feel there is nothing special about you and that God may have blessed others with unique talents, but you are not. Therefore, I want to stop you today and gently remind you of the scripture in Romans 11:29. I had always quoted it because I love it, and during my life when I allowed someone to make me feel less, I recalled this scripture and repeated it to myself.
That’s why I want to share it with you; you can learn and recall it when you feel discouraged.
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable (for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His call”). Just let that sink in for a while. The next time you feel down or allow someone to put limitations on you, repeat that scripture to yourself. Also, remember Eleanor Roosevelt’s words, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” So please don’t give it to them.
Happy Friday and may God’s blessings overtake you!
